Wessex Bloodhounds Fun Ride Conditions of Entry
When you book to take part in the ride you are agreeing to the following conditions
for your own safety and the safety of others.
GUIDELINES
1. The ride is a leisure event and not a competition. All riders may complete the course at their own pace.
2. Faster riders may overtake slower riders provided they do so in a safe manner, asking permission to pass before they do so.
3. Payment should be made in advance using the website booking form. Group bookings should be completed on the same online form.
4. Riders may state a preferred start time and the organisers will try to accommodate this where possible.
5. All riders will be emailed their start time on Saturday 12 July 2025. A list will also be posted on the Wessex Bloodhounds Facebook page. Please make every effort to arrive in good time.
Latecomers may have to wait for a suitable gap in the schedule before they are allowed to start.
RULES
• All riders must wear hats conforming to PAS 015:1998 or 2011 with BSI Kitemark, VH1 with BAS
Kitemark, ASTM F1163 2004a onwards with SEI mark, SNELL E2001 onwards with official; Snell label and number or AS/NZS 3838 2006 onwards. Body protectors are advised but are not compulsory.
• Horses and ponies must be four years old and above.
• Horses and ponies may be presented at a jump three times only before moving on.
• Dogs must be kept on leads at all times. Do not leave dogs in vehicles.
• SDB and the landowners disclaim all liability for any damage to persons or property. It is up to riders and spectators to make their own insurance arrangements.
• There are no designated first aiders on the course. A first aid kit will be available at the secretary’s desk should you need basic items.
• Riders failing to carry out instructions given by a marshal may be asked to leave the course.
• Riders must be in full control of their horse or pony - DO NOT ride on any crop or cultivated field. Failure to comply with this will result in a rider being asked to leave the course.
• Bookings will close at 12 noon on Friday 11 July 2025.
• Cancellation of booking should be made by emailing mailbox@wessexbloodhounds.com before 12 noon on Friday 11 July 2025. Any cancellations made after this time will not be refunded.
There is a £5 admin charge included on all bookings and this is non-refundable.
